Restrictions
A route that suits your truck
A truck does not fit everywhere. Tolmijden checks per road section and per road sign whether your truck is allowed there, and plans the route around the prohibited stretches.
What Tolmijden checks
- Height: bridges, viaducts and tunnels (sign C19).
- Weight: total weight (sign C21) and axle load (sign C20).
- Length and width (signs C17 and C18).
- Closed to trucks (sign C7).
- Dangerous goods (sign C22).
The road sections come from Rijkswaterstaat, the signs from the national road sign database.
An explanation for every detour
If the route makes a detour, it says why: which sign or which restriction, with the explanation of the sign. That way the driver also knows why the route differs from what the navigation in the cab says.
Profile from the number plate
With the number plate, Tolmijden fills in the dimensions and weight known to the RDW. Anything missing, often the height, you fill in yourself. Also state whether you are taking a trailer or semi-trailer.
Frequently asked questions
Are the restrictions always complete?
Tolmijden uses the official national files of road sections and road signs. Always check the signs yourself on the road: they take precedence.
