Euro class and the Dutch truck charge
For the Dutch truck charge (vrachtwagenheffing) the Euro class only counts if your truck is in CO2 emission class 1. That is, however, the majority of all trucks. The older the engine, the higher the charge for air pollution.

Where does the Euro class come from?
From the exhaust emission level in the RDW open data, for example "EURO VI C". If it is missing, Euro 0 applies under the law.
Euro 6+
The statutory table has a Euro 6+ column with a slightly lower amount. vrachtwagenheffing.nl does not show that column and the law does not explain when Euro 6+ applies. Tolmijden calculates with Euro 6 if the RDW states Euro VI.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Euro class count for CO2 class 2 or higher?
No. From CO2 class 2 there is one rate per weight class, regardless of the Euro class.
